The wisest advice I ever received regarding the kitchen came from my mother: 'Do the dishes while you're cooking.'

I have always wanted to own a homemade ice cream shop!

For my kids, I cook everything. We have dinner every night, pretty much, just the four of us: my husband and me and our two kids.

I cannot cook to save my life. I'm really frighteningly useless, when you get down to it.

Although I write to entertain, and try to keep my work free of didacticism, I do have a rather passionate belief in our need to be connected to - and to learn from - history.

I have a naturally camp sensibility and a camp sense of humour. I love the icons that gay people love.
