I have discovered I cannot dream up characters as incredible as the ones I meet in the wilderness.

I met senators, diplomats and the President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Children are still in love with the wonders of nature, and I am, too. So I write them stories in hopes that they will want to protect all the beautiful creatures and places.

I have a private press. I'm a book artist. I publish books of other authors and artists. I do the illustrating. I set the type. I print it myself on my press. I do everything but bind it.

Well, I actually wrote her a letter a couple of days ago congratulating her. The tone I tried to convey in the letter is, look, you are a part of a great American historical process.

I have a naturally camp sensibility and a camp sense of humour. I love the icons that gay people love.
