I feel like you can do all the research in the world, but when you start putting that costume on, put your hair in a wig and walk into those sets, that's where the visceral reaction is. It's no longer in the head. It's in the body.

Most Americans are fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I'm advocating a balanced budget. But along with that, look, there should be gay marriage equality. A woman should have the right to choose. Let's not build a fence across the border.

I hope that by modeling feminism in my own life, work and relationships that it will haut become an organic part of my daughter's life. But I'm also fully prepared for her to become a Republican as a way to rebel as a teenager - that would be just my luck!
