Whenever we race in London, the noise of the fans gives me goosebumps.

As a family, we were always active. Lots of walking, lots of running as well as riding bikes with dad.

I was lucky enough to go to a school which gave flexibility around education and sport. We had a 1-hour, 30-minute lunch break, and were able to train during this time.

I am a big one for subtlety and empathy. My dad was softly spoken and didn't carry his honours and accomplishments for everyone to see.

I was good at being a doctor; my patients liked me. At times people trust you with things they wouldn't tell their spouses. It was a real privilege.

The dons of Oxford and Cambridge are too busy educating the young men to be able to teach them anything.
