The majority of my audience has always been women.

It gets harder and harder to make sure your public understands you're a sensitive human being, but I am sensitive. I don't like to be hurt.

What I find is most people have a civics book understanding for how Congress works and how a bill moves.

Most detective story readers are an educated audience and know there are only a certain number of plots. The interest lies in what the writer does with them.
