It's a combination of science, maintenance, and general housekeeping. And then, occasionally, robotics activities or a spacewalk you might get to do.

There's certainly a loss of connection with folks on the ground who I care for and love and I want to spend time with.

As far as whether there is life there on Mars or whether there was actually ever life there, I don't know. It would be great to find out, though.

It's no secret - if you know me, have ever met me or have shared a meal with me - that I'm a passionate environmentalist.

Recently, I was in Bernalda, my dad's ancestral home town in Italy. He has just refurbished a palazzo and turned it into a hotel, so we had my sister's wedding there. It was beautiful.

I feel sorry for generations of Labour voters and supporters who must look and wonder what on earth has gone wrong and what Labour is for.
