Modesty isn't one of my strong suits.

The fact is all of the most highly successful scientists I know work practically all the time.

I'm sure our brains are working unconsciously. When you have a creative thought, it's parts of the brain talking to each other without your awareness.

I am a big one for subtlety and empathy. My dad was softly spoken and didn't carry his honours and accomplishments for everyone to see.

I have always had confidence in my own ability.

As a young child my attention span was, as I remember it, rather short.
