Imagination has a great deal to do with winning.

To me, teamwork is the beauty of our sport, where you have five acting as one. You become selfless.

When I was growing up, there weren't any Little Leagues in the city. Parents worked all the time. They didn't have time to take their kids out to play baseball and football.

You have the Roman Catholic Church, the Church of England, the Presbyterians, the Wesleyans, represented in each school, and they are each to take alternate days.

I learned to listen and listen very well. It helped me athletically and in the classroom as well. The person who talks a lot or talks over people misses out because they weren't listening.

My first career ambitions involved turning into a boy; I intended to be either a railway guard or a knight errant.
