Dennis Hopper is one of the great American lives.

Sometimes you do a sound installation, and the first day or two it is very exciting. Then you are hearing this every day for a month, and it becomes like a torture.

There is a constant ebb and flow in art historical reputations. The reputation of even the greatest figures like Picasso are in flux.

Now, what that means is that there is fundamental indeterminacy from quantum mechanics, but besides that there are other sources of effective indeterminacy.

If you look at my CV, just about everything I have done has come through a publicly funded institution; it is a career entirely built on that sort of support.
