Certainly my personality, my sense of humor, my outlook on life was informed by the experiences of my parents and the stories they shared with me.

That is what intrigues me; songwriting and song structure and expression.

I feel safe and comfortable to do that once I know that the song structure around the bass part is very interesting and it satisfies me in a compositional sense.

History is only conjecture, and the best historians try to do it as accurately as they can. They try to accurately reassemble the facts and then put them down on paper.

My feeling for reality TV isn't ironic, guilty, or apologetic. Reality TV is one of the few remaining modes of popular entertainment in which characterization is permitted as plot.

It's good to like yourself, and that only comes from hard work, from doing. But vanity is dangerous; it can trip you badly.
