My criteria for what makes a book an official 'favorite,' is based almost entirely on how desperately I don't want the story to end.

My own pregnancies were all about me, me, me. My aches, my pains, my swollen feet, and my body that looked like the Michelin Man.

I find the term 'perfect child' to be an oxymoron.

It took me realizing that a broken heart has never actually killed anyone to find the courage to ask for what I want, in just about every situation. That was part of my own growing up.

I laugh at absurdity hardest, then stories, then observations, then bearded men on roller skates.

Another thing that freaks me out is time. Time is like a book. You have a beginning, a middle and an end. It's just a cycle.
