Sometimes I can think of nothing more blissful than going to Berkeley and reading Byron for three years.

I subscribe to no religion. But I believe that in the creation of art, there can be moments of God.

Sometimes you need to break away from something in order to know how much you need or want it.

I don't think I was a good model. I think I was born to emote and act. I would walk down the ramp and smile and they used to say, 'Give us a blank look.' It was really difficult not to smile.

I want to do just, like, regular art. Whatever is made today on canvas goes up against all of art history. It's the most radical thing.

As a writer, I try to do different things, but I'm not going to become a darker artist or turn into Radiohead overnight. I don't think that's my style.
